31 Ways To Re-Energize Your Life
ByHave you been feeling stuck lately? De-energized? Listless? Well, here’s a list that will get you going!
Every once in a while I feel this way, but I find that a few simple changes is all it takes to liven things up again.
It’s hard to take on the world when you’re feeling down or de-energized, so try a few (or all) of these ideas out and notice the positive change in your life. Pretty soon you’ll be able change the world!
The essence of getting re-energized is:…
- Do something new, unusual, different, bigger
- Do something daring. Face a fear.
- Be in the now.
- Connect with people.
- Stop doing draining stuff. Clean up messes.
- Let go of limiting beliefs and assumptions.
- Stop caring so much what other people think.
Here are 31 things to do to get re-energized:
- Get a haircut – You’ll feel like a new person.
- Focus on yourself more – We tend to think of others all the time, and neglect self-care. It’s important to do something for yourself, just because you want to.
- Give yourself permission to do fun things for you
- Let go – of needing to be perfect, knowing it all, being appropriate, practical, and responsible

) - Be more authentically you – We spend an incredible amount of energy trying to be what others expect of us and it doesn’t work. Just be you and let others decide whether they want to accept it or not.
- Throw stuff out (oooh that feels good). If it’s worth under $100, just give it away or throw it away. Don’t try to sell it. This is liberating!
- Exercise – Really. Make it fun. I found running in groups to be a lot of fun.
- Go on an adventure – Big, small, near, or far. It’s interesting and re-energizing no matter how you do it.
- Take a Life Drawing Art Class – You know you always wanted to. (A+ if you’re the model) ;o)
- Set a Bold Goal – Make it remarkable, different, impractical, and fun. Do it because you want to, not because you have to. If you don’t get “Why would you want to do that?” as a reaction, pick something bolder. E.g. Run 1,576 steps up the Empire State Building (I did it in 2007. It was awesome!).
- Face a fear – Seriously, this is so much fun once you try it a few times. Plus, every time you face a fear, you gain in confidence and shed many things that hold you back.
- Take a leap of faith – Trust me. It always works out (well, most of the time).
- Buy a $250,000 car [Disclaimer: Ok, I haven’t done this, but I’m sure it would energize me.]
- Be more playful in everything you do.
- Curl up with a good book
- Spoon more
- Connect at a deeper emotional level with people
- Forgive – Everyone for everything. Ask for forgiveness. Try the Ho’oponopono cleaning mantra: “I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank You.” It works.
- Eat better – Food has a real impact on moods and energy levels
- Re-connect with something you did for fun in your teenage years
- Have more sex – Physical and emotional connection with your spouse
- Get away with your spouse for a week, long weekend, day, anything
- Get away by yourself
- Get naked (Ok, I’m starting to repeat myself)
- Learn something new – This always feels good and often connects you with others with similar interests
- Move – Houses, locations, jobs, businesses, etc
- Remove mental blocks and limiting beliefs
- Talk to strangers
- Get a better car – Aren’t you tired of that old beater. You deserve better.
- Realize that you’re priceless, even if you never change a thing about you.
Try them out!
With the new year just around the corner, here’s your chance to make the next year your best!
Let me know how it goes.
All the best!
