The One Exercise Habit That Will Change Your Life
By · CommentsMotion drives emotion.
How you feel is often driven by what you are doing or not doing physically.
If you sit on the couch and watch tv, that posture and lack of movement naturally lowers your mood and has been shown to increase chances of depression.
But, if you put on running shoes and go out for a walk or run, that posture and movement does all sorts of wonderful things, including making you feel better.
Very often people say, “I don’t feel like exercising. I’m too tired.” The natural assumption is that you should only exercise when you have the energy. But that’s wrong.
Exercising gives you energy! Just the act of putting on your running shoes and going for a walk or run, or going to the gym and getting moving, will increase your energy.
So reframe it and reverse your habit …
When you feel tired, say “I’m tired, so I’m going to go exercise”.
You’ll be amazed how that single habit will change your life.
Get “BETTER”, not just “good”!
By · CommentsYesterday, I caught myself saying “I want to get good at ______”.
I’ve said this a thousand times for various things I wanted to get good at. Seems normal, doesn’t it? But … it’s wrong! Or at least it’s not as effective as the alternative.
The thing I should have said is “I want to get BETTER at ______”.
Why? … Read More→
Risk vs Fear: They’re Not The Same
By · CommentsYesterday, a friend asked me … “Mark, do you like taking risks?”
I was stunned at first, not knowing what to answer.
Minutes before we had been talking about my 200 foot bungee jump last year, the highest in North America. We had even watched the video of it. Certainly, that qualified as risky. But was that my motivation?
I mumbled an answer, but really didn’t get clear on my own answer until much later on. Was I a risk taker? Is that what bungee jumping said about me?
But now it’s clear …
It’s not about taking risks. It’s about facing fears.

The 4-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide To Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman
Rating: 4/5 squats (stars)
Bribes, Babes, And Pulled Muscles
I was looking so forward to The 4-Hour Body by Tim Ferriss that I visited at least a dozen book stores starting two weeks before the release date. I wanted to see if I could bribe someone to sell it to me ahead of time. For the most part, no luck.
(Tim is also the author of The 4-Hour Workweek. Full-disclosure: I am not an investor in Tim Ferriss Inc., but I am a fan.)
Then, six days before the release date, I spotted copies on the shelf of my local book store. Jackpot!
This book is so good, you don’t even have to read the book to benefit … At a whopping 571 pages in hardcover, you’ll develop super-human strength just lifting it off the book shelf!
Then I read the table of contents to see if it would actually be interesting. … Read More→
The Power of Letting Go
By · CommentsIt turns out I’m hanging on too tight.
Have you ever held on to an image of how things should be, and no matter how hard you try, they insist on being different than how you want them to be?
For some reason, I’m getting a MAJOR life lesson in letting go.
Multiple things have happened over the past few years (especially this year) that are forcing me to learn this lesson in a big way now.
If you learn to let go too, you could expect your life and business to get better. Not making enough money? Maybe you’re holding on too tight to something.
My 1st Bungee Jump – 200 ft – Highest In North America
By · CommentsI was standing there, 200 feet over the abyss, ready to jump.
With nothing but air between me and the water, I was trying not to let the chicken side of my mind take over.
If that little rubber band attached to my ankles worked (“it’s attached properly, right?”) then I would be yanked back a mere foot from death or paralysis. If it didn’t work … well it had better work!
I could turn back like some others who let their fear get the best of them.
But I came here to face my fear

How Running Changed My Socks Life
By · CommentsBefore I started running, I had a regular socks life. I had enough socks to get by, a little variety, and wasn’t too concerned about quality. Once in a while, I’d try new socks for a change.
Then I started running.
At first, my socks life didn’t change. But pretty soon I found I needed more socks. The more I ran, the more socks I needed. The mileage went up and up, and the amount of socks I needed went up too. My wife couldn’t keep up. “Why do you need so much socks?!” she asked. “I don’t know. It’s the running!”, I said … Read More→
3 Ways To Simplify Your Life!
By · CommentsAre you feeling a bit overwhelmed?
Has the economy got you worried? Too much change, too much stuff? Heavy, heavy, heavy!
Well, it’s time to lighten the load.
Every once in a while (ok, more often than that) I feel like there’s so much stuff going on in my life that I’m not getting anything done, and I’m not enjoying it. It feels like day after day after day of just trying to keep up, but no matter what I do, more stuff gets piled on.
What makes it worse is that there are so many little things. Things that I know are not that important, so I ignore them, but then they pile up and start weighing on me.
On top of that, loose ends keep piling up too.
I finally came to the conclusion that … Read More→
The essence of “faith” is believing in someone or something when there is no proof.
Most people make the mistake of thinking it only applies to religion, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
The truth is we all need faith – faith in ourselves, faith in our abilities, faith in our futures, faith in our ability to do good in the world and be good people.
Equally, we need those closest to us to have faith – in us! This is absolutely key!
The Miracle Discovery That I Needed Someone To Have Faith In Me
It wasn’t too long ago that I was going through a deeply painful part of my life with several back to back setbacks that caused me to lose almost all belief in myself.
During that time I knew … Read More→
